“Let’s make our city cleaner!” A cleanup and environmental awareness event in the city of Bălți. Together, we can make a difference!
Why does every action matter?
In a world where the volume of waste is growing year after year, every individual action counts. Sorting and recycling aren’t just modern trends—they are essential steps we take to protect the environment we live in, the air we breathe, and the earth that feeds us.
The city of Bălți, like many other cities in the Republic of Moldova, faces real challenges related to waste management. Littering affects not only the city’s appearance but also the health of its residents, as well as soil and groundwater quality.
What does it mean to recycle?
Recycling is the process by which used materials—paper, plastic, glass, and metal—are transformed into new resources, thereby reducing the need to extract raw materials from nature. Every recycled plastic bottle and every separately collected cardboard box is a small step with a big impact.
Did you know? Recycling just one ton of paper saves about 17 trees, 26,000 liters of water, and enough electricity to power a household for half a year.
By sorting our waste, we reduce the amount of trash that ends up in landfills, cut down on pollution, and contribute to a circular economy—a model in which resources are reused, not wasted.
Together for a greener city
On April 22, 2026, Earth Day, the companies Ecorep and Finplast are organizing a cleanup event in the city of Bălți. It’s the perfect opportunity to get out of our homes, join forces, and clean up the streets, parks, and green spaces of our city together.
Whether you are a high school student, a college student, an employee, or a retiree—everyone’s contribution is valuable.
This event isn’t just about cleaning up—it’s about community, responsibility, and the example we set for future generations.
